PEARCE CABIN
129 N. Main St. / 502-845-2422 (Heritage House)
Bear and buffalo roamed here and Kentucky was still part of Virginia when this log cabin was built around 1790. James Pearce was one of the earliest pioneers of New Castle and two other cabins reportedly built by him still stand across the street, covered in siding. The cabin is owned and was lovingly restored by Bette Peyton and her late husband Cecil, along with the support and contributions of many community members.
